Stoneferry Estates helps software specialists target growth following move into new headquarters

An East Yorkshire business which has established itself as the UK leader in developing warehousing management systems for the textiles industry has bought new premises on a successful Stoneferry Estates development as it targets a break into new markets.

Over the past three decades, Reflex Data Systems has provided computer software and services which manage the entire warehousing process, from sales and stock management to purchasing, accounting and e-commerce.

Using its vast knowledge of the fabrics and flooring industries, Reflex has been a market leader in the UK for more than 10 years, helping customers from SMEs to major Plc businesses run their operations to maximum efficiency.

Now, having moved from its Beverley home of 20 years to establish new headquarters on the Priory Park development in West Hull, the company is housed in a modern, two-floor office building which managing director Jerry Alcock believes will help the business to further develop its service delivery capabilities.

"As a business we had certainly outgrown our previous home on the Tokenspire Business Park, and as a market leading software and services provider , we needed something in keeping with our position and standing in the industry," said Mr Alcock.

"Moving to Priory Park is already bringing great benefits to the business. We have a much-improved communications infrastructure, which is crucial given the nature of our work, but also in terms of the location, the links to the major road and rail networks means we are much more accessible for our clients to come and see us, as well as being a more fitting environment to invite them to."

The new offices, 5,500 sq ft over two floors, not only provide a comfortable working environment for Reflex's 38 members of staff, but have also been decorated in many of the products used by its own customers, most of which have benefitted from Reflex's expertise in providing software and services for many years.

Now settled in their new headquarters, plans are being drawn up to repeat the company's UK success in new markets overseas.

"As a business, we have used our extensive knowledge and expertise in the fabrics and flooring industries, which has been gained over more than 25 years, to develop software and services which brings massive benefits and efficiencies to our customers," added Mr Alcock.

"We have encountered and overcome many of the operational challenges which are faced in textile processing and warehousing over the years and have adapted and updated our software to meet those needs.

"It means we can now say to customers that we'll have the answers to any of their operation and warehousing issues. Our software and services deliver many tangible efficiencies and savings, which for new customers and new markets, is a powerful message to deliver."

Reflex's move onto Priory Park saw them take one of the office buildings in Earls Court, built in the early 2000s by Stoneferry Estates. Just one office suite now remains available on the site, having sold many to private businesses.

Director Tom Healey said he was delighted to see the premises being taken on by an East Yorkshire company with big ambitions moving forward.

"It is clearly exciting times for Reflex Data Systems and the team at Stoneferry Estates has been delighted to have been able to help them find premises which match the quality of the business," he said.

"When we first developed Earls Court, we always felt they were offices which would suit growing businesses taking that next step on the ladder, given their substantial size, quality specification and their location off the A63.

"This development is now home to some very successful businesses who are not only enjoying success locally, but further afield, and we are confident Reflex will use this base to further develop what is already a very successful and industry leading business."
