Stoneferry Estates starts work on £25m Kingston Parklands development

Stoneferry Estates is delighted to confirm work has started on the new £25m Kingston Parklands business park in Hull.
The start of development work reflects our confidence in both the project ‐ and the city ‐ to attract major new businesses and investment.
Enabling works for the first phase of the development, which will cost in the region of £5m and include a 42,000 sq ft Grade A office, are now underway.
Negotiations are still continuing with a variety of interested parties, making it the right time to start work.
Director Tom Healey said: "By starting the enabling works now, Stoneferry Estates is sending a clear message to the market that the company believes in the future of Hull and its growing renewables sector.
"Having such a prominent site, directly opposite the Siemens development, will allow other big international businesses the opportunity to become part of a market that is going to be a game changer for Hull and surrounding region.
"Stoneferry Estates did exactly the same when developing the former Humbrol factory site further down Hedon Road, which we redeveloped in the middle of a recession.
"That site is now recognised as the first completed Enterprise Zone development in the UK and is home to some great companies such as Nippon Gohsei and Neill and Brown logistics. We know we can repeat that success here."
The enabling works are currently focussed on site clearance and building the access road to the site, which will allow Stoneferry Estates to market specific plots for potential customers.
Mr Healey added "With the support of Hull City Council, we are working very hard to get the right business mix on this key development that helps fuel future investment, growth and jobs along the Green Port corridor, and within the Hull market.
"From day one Stoneferry Estates has set out to create a business campus that not only the company can be proud, but all in Hull can be proud of, and we are determined to fulfil this."
Hull City Council leader, Councillor Stephen Brady, toured the site with Stoneferry directors Paul Dixon and Tom Healey, and East Hull MP Karl Turner recently.
He said: "We are pleased to be working with Stoneferry Estates for the second time to develop a world-class environmental technology park in the city.
"Hull is currently undergoing a transformation and our primary aim with all developments is to ensure we can attract and retain a locally trained and highly-skilled workforce.
"This development is a crucial asset to the increasing investment portfolio spreading across the city and it will serve as an excellent location for a modern business park that will take advantage of the growing renewables sector."
MP Karl Turner also welcomed the start of work, recognising it has come at a key time for the city. "With the Siemens development already underway, it is fantastic news for the city to see work starting on another hugely important development which can attract yet more investment into the city around the renewables sector," he said.
"It is great to see the city council and a local company working together to ensure Hull makes the most of opportunity we now have to be a true leader in the renewables sector by investing in the city's future and developing key sites such as this. It shows the great confidence and belief currently in the city of Hull."
